Pros

Boutique law firm with a uniquely collaborative and collegial culture. Attorneys and staff alike are professional, polite, and genuinely supportive, which creates a welcoming environment. The firm’s flat structure gives you real agency: you can take ownership of projects early, work directly with partners, and see your ideas implemented.

Cons

Because the firm is entrepreneurial, there isn’t always a rigid structure or predefined career path. To thrive here, you need to be comfortable with ambiguity and able to create your own structure.

Pros

In Midtown, Manhattan.

Cons

Had to tell them I could not continue here, good luck. Atmosphere is toxic, from angry staff to abusive partners. Associates who work here are absolutely desperate (you can even tell just from the partner-associate ratio: top-heavy.) Two senior corporate partners in particular are the two most abusive I have encountered, and they can't be escaped at such a small firm. Pay is sub-par. Good work gets one nowhere; billing clients for endless hours is the game here. Clients are sketchy with, ahem, curious foreign interests represented. Total sweatshop; need an example? Sure: associate billable hours were -- literally -- displayed in gigantic font at company meetings for all lawyers to see. Hillbilly-like, incestuous atmosphere, as sad "old friends" and family members hunker down with nowhere else to turn.
