Pros

My everyday co-workers were great! And great regular customers! Not sure what else I can say to make up the total words needed!

Cons

Corporate & upper management set unrealistic goals. They want you to be "relationship people", but building relationships is not really what they want. They want you to sell the customer everything under the sun. And if you don't "profile" every customer extensively, they're asking why. They also want you to give a sales pitch with every customer, that includes, "Here at Regions we provide, advice, guidance and education". Which sounds like we're really trying to help, but you feel like a robot and telemarketer. And they expect you to do your everyday in office sales, but then you're so expected to make 30+ calls weekly, while also, running teller transactions at your desk & if goals are not being met you may be asked to stay for call nights. God help you if you know how to actually run a teller drawer, because some of my coworkers were expected to do that too, due to always being understaffed. Also, regardless of where your branch is located, every branch employee has the same goals, so if you're in a slow or rural office you have the same goals as someone in a busy, city location. And they just expect you to make more calls to get your sells; I'd say, I left more messages for people than I ever got to talk to someone, much less sell them something. Turnover was crazy while I was there. I'd been in banking for many years and had worked for a couple larger banks, and had never witnessed that much turnover. And it was awful because upper management talked about employees they didn't like and especially after they left. Wish I knew what was said about me. Ha. My point is upper management was very unprofessional! Well, I could go on and on... but it's just not worth it! I'm so much happier since I left!

Pros

The overall bank culture - they truly show that they value their employees, and fully vested in ensuring that is communicated and shown. I was completely impressed with my onboarding experience, and each day since my start date reaffirms that I made the right decision in accepting their offer. I could immediately tell that they invested in providing adequate tools to make our job functions efficient. There is also a large array of Learning & Development modules that are available to enhance your career. They are always sending out surveys to obtain feedback from the employees about their experience whenever they may have to engage with another area. The atmosphere has also been very welcoming and everyone seems so genuinely happy. They have provided me with a work life balance and good benefits. Regions definitely has identified the ingredients that I believe factor into why one would describe them as a great place to work. If the employees feel appreciated and are happy, it resonates. Its that kind of attitude that will be naturally also extended to our customers because its a embedded culture. I enjoy getting up and going to work everyday because I feel as if I am now working for a company that values the people they employ - and also care about how that also positively impacts their customers.

Cons

I can see that there are some gaps whereas one area may not fully understand what is going on in another - and because of that there may be some unnecessary overlap.
