Pros

Actual peers and co-workers are great people and good to work with on a daily basis. Still a medium amount of legacy Redhat culture left. The support teams and sales peers are good to work with. Some really strong partners to work with as well. Still positives as a whole.

Cons

My Con's are focused on the way sales is treated. In 2020 Redhat rolled out a new Varicent sales comp tool for viewing compensation and expected commissions. Now in 2024 this great varicent "anti-sales" tool still does not show any actual commission until the 48 hrs prior to release at best. The entire comp team should be terminated effective immediately. How many more years do they need ??? How about another 4 yrs, LOL. Also in 2024 the under current of anger by sales teams for the sales exec leadership is fairly high. The CFO and exec sales leaders have over shot on quota's so high for the avg sales person regardless of commercial or enterprise account coverage. Example, an annual sales quota is 110% to 150% + over any existing annual run rate or ACV business. The CFO is so heavy handed and such a miser, and cares less about sales teams selling. To this point, there are approx. 5 doc to explain the compensation sales plan ( on how they won't pay you ) ! Here is the gift or incentive from the CFO office. Between 31% - 69% of sales attainment you get paid absolutely "zero" commission of your associated sales or deals closed. It gets better. Considering 65%+ of redhat revenue is backend loaded into December, that means any closed in Q4/December, you won't see a dime of it, assuming they even get it right till April !!-( They used to say, Enterprise Software sales is like prize fighting, but were did the prize go ? It's not in varicent.

Pros

Extremely talented and motivated people Great product and ecosystem around Kubernetes

Cons

Bluewashing is real. After 4 years past acquisition it is not Open Decision company anymore. There is no clear communication about the direction where the company goes, some departments were moved to IBM without clear explanation why. Promotion process that was clear before is gone, and now your salary increase or promotion are directly depend on your relationship with the manager and not from your contribution to the team or the product.
