Pros

*good classroom, air conditioned. *the Korean boss always prepares the materials for you daily. Don’t have to worry about printing.

Cons

*all job interviews were conducted by the teachers. Korean boss cannot speak English. He will just arrange for the interview and he dumped the interviewee to you. *will be called up for a trial teaching, usually in the evening before offering you the job. But no contract will be given to you to sign. (Red flag) *No CPF contribution was given to teachers monthly. Teachers should report this to the authority if he’s still not paying his share of the cpf contribution. *Materials and reading books are all bought from another American Korean entrepreneur/edicator. So it’s their selling point. Don’t see much teaching involved here when all you need to do is just sit down and get the kids to do all the worksheets and mark them before the lesson is over. *All the students are Koreans so if anything the Korean parents are unhappy about , they go to the boss. They don’t communicate directly to the teacher. *Materials are repetitive and useless . Some older kids even resorted to copying wholesale on Google before submitting their book review report. *The kids and their parents used your classroom as their own waiting room . They don’t have any respect to the teacher’s properties in the room. They went through your things and opened your pencil cases and used all your markers and other stuffs without permission. *there is no fixed number of students per class. On some days, there’s just a few students per session. On other days, it’ can be crowded when boss started to dump high school students to your class too. *On some days, you will be asked to go to the other center to conduct your lesson.
