Pros
The front line staff and volunteers are the biggest assets of this organisation.
Cons
Top down lack of empathy and understanding and value with regard to volunteers. Disconnection between saying volunteers are crucial to the success of the organisation and treating volunteers as such. Unwilling to provide approprite support for staff and volunteers in order for roles to be carried out with confidence. Collaboration actively discouraged. Bullying behaviour displayed and accepted by CEO and others in senior positions. Including public 'dressing downs' Belief and over reliance in automated processes to improve services; little value is placed on the personal touch. Decisions regularly made without thinking projects through, meaning staff spend time and energy on projects which are never seen to completion. Concerns around how safeguarding processes are communicated, handled and viewed by relevant senior staff. Overall, the most toxic working environment I have ever encountered, where staff are isolated, undervalued, and in constant fear of public humiliation, or losing their jobs by simply being themselves and doing their best to help those facing loneliness and social exclusion.
