Pros

Great people and a great experience for a new programmer

Cons

$0 pay. I was given contracts but they only pay when the game sells. The game was started about 7 years ago and it still is not complete. Maybe someday I will see some money. I have no idea.

I am sorry you feel its taking too long to complete the project. For clarity, the actual start date of the digital version of Eden Falling was started in late October 2014 designed to be a direct conversion of the table top game, which has a rule book of over 600 pages. We decided in July 2015 to change the direction and make the game a full blown AA to AAA style graphical adventure. Most similar projects created by other studios working full time with a team of 100+ people take on average about 5 to 7 years to complete. Our entire team works part-time, most working about 5 to 10 hours a week and we are on track to release within the next 12 months. I believe that is a testament to the Teams determination and overall feel about the product we are working on. We are are a profit sharing team, meaning we earn royalties from game sales, as the game sells, the upside you earn more over a longer period of time, the downside, none of us makes any money until it sells. This setup is not for everyone but everyone who wants to join us is informed prior to signing their first contract paperwork of this setup and how it works. We do offer regular update announcements (multiple times a week) to keep all team members informed and on milestone. Additionally, WIP reviews and weekly team online meetings and we have a our teams discord channels where the team is in constant contact with each other, As you know, at REG we have a very enjoyable open, friendly, social working environment. Our team stays very connected not only focused on the work we need to get done but also forging relationships that extend outside of work. Many on our team work for other studios in game development or cinema industries and choose to work here as well. The main mottos I run the company by, is, "we must be able to have fun, while we work" The Team Leads, Executives and I strive to remove the "each team member is a shark" attitude that prevails at many other studios an strive to create a very team oriented environment, where we all have plenty to do and are not competing for the next scrap of work that becomes available. As an existing team member, I suggest you join in a bit more with the rest of the team. Get to know your fellow teammates, you may discover what many of the others have, and share in their enthusiasm to make the best products we can. Most of all reach out to your team leads or executives like myself if you have questions or issues or thoughts that we can assist you with.
