Pros

We support each other, you never have to worry about somebody turning you away because "it's not my job", if they can't help, they find you somebody who will. Huge opportunities for growth, we've had individuals start that changed careers into entry level roles, that have moved into leadership positions and senior engineering positions Benefits are fantastic, matching 401k, copious amounts of PTO, health benefits are hard to beat, and costs are minimal. There's flexibility in options for health plans as well. COX offers us beyond the standards, such as cell phone plan discounts, pet insurance, home / auto insurance, etc. Work life balance is an absolute must in the company, and especially within my organization. If we don't give back to our people and their personal lives are not taken care of, then we cannot expect them to show up and be successful at work. Things happen in technology, we have long days sometimes, but if we haven't spent time focusing on our home, then those long days are challenging to accomplish. It's a lot of fun to work with the people here. No job is perfect, so we choose to surround ourselves with like minded people who are all about our culture. We do this through things like lifting each other up when things are hard, having fun on critical bridges, and making sure we spend time just talking to each other instead of only focusing on work. We're humans! To further this a little, RapidScale is not special from an IP or what we do perspective, it's how we do it and the people that do it, that make us unique. We live through empathy with customer service, and we can't get to that point without supporting our people first. If our people are happy, our customers are happy. To anyone reading this, I understand I have a Director title and it is easy to interpret this as leadership fluff. I promise you it is not, this is why I went into leadership in the first place. I wanted to be the leader I was desperately looking for but couldn't find, so I became one myself since it was seemingly missing. It is the core of why I am in my role, to create & maintain a world where employees are focused as the critical means of success.

Cons

We've grown quickly and have some process / knowledge debt to catch up on (which we're mid doing, but not there yet!)

Pros

From day one I was treated as a real contributor rather than just an intern. I had genuine hands-on exposure to enterprise cloud environments supporting actual clients across Microsoft 365, Citrix VDI, VMware vCloud Director, and Mimecast. The opportunity to lead a knowledge base quality assurance project for a company-wide ServiceNow migration was a career highlight. Several colleagues were incredibly warm, welcoming, and genuinely invested in my growth. The work is meaningful and the technology stack is impressive.

Cons

Manager engagement with interns was inconsistent. Communication around intern performance, expectations, and potential full time opportunities could be more structured and transparent throughout the program rather than only at the end. Interns are left to figure out their standing largely on their own which can be stressful especially when the internship is coming to a close.
