Pros

Decent pay, starting is $24… but that’s only because 2/3 of new hires quit within 3 months due to the toxic enviroment

Cons

No support from management, the amount of harassment and abuse you have to endure is crippling (mainly from other employees), no sense of loyalty (it’s all about who you know), you will be expected to tolerate physical and mental abuse and when something goes wrong the first question they ask is “what could you have done differently?”, its a non-profit but upper management is all making hundreds of thousands of dollars a year, you will witness abuse of all kinds towards the kids/participants but nothing is ever done about it. If you chose to work here get ready to sell your soul, values and morality… and get treated terribly everyday while you’re at it.

Pros

The current senior leadership team seems to have lost their way. Financial controls and ‘pet projects’ of some are taking precedence over what should be priorities—caring for participants and staff. Executives who don’t understand the work, are less educated and experienced than those who work for them. More and more silencing of those who advocate for staff and kids. Many assaults, compassion fatigue common. The kids and direct care staff deserve more.

Cons

A reminder: the Ranch is not a government department. The heart has been sucked right out of the place by the current ceo.
