Pros

I worked with Ryzin Art for several months as a contract 3D Artist and it was hands down the best experience in my time doing freelance outsourcing work. I was getting paid what I deserved. There was no reluctance from their part to meet my desired hourly rate. Remote communication was flawless. Everyone was approachable, there was zero toxicity or ego issues. During a short period when I had hiccup in productivity, the coordinator/manager reached out to me to see what's going on. He was very considerate and professional in doing so. Time tracking system was implemented really well. It caused no stress.

Cons

No cons were encountered during my time with Ryzin Art.

Pros

You get to work on lots of cool games and a good place to break into the industry.

Cons

Owner is vindictive and constantly brings his personal life into the workplace. He shuts down and lashes out at workers when things are not going his way. If you leave the studio or he gets mad at you for doing that, he will also remove your name from the credits of any games you've worked on before they come out. Also will not let you use your own work after you leave. After I left I lost lots of credits for games that I absolutely worked on. Pay isn't very good. He nickel and dimes his employees. A $1 hourly raise is a big argument when the owner is driving around in a new car every three months. Owner goes through phases when they're busy where he drops contacts and burns bridges and then they eventually run completely dry.

RYZIN ART Response
5y
¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Ryzin Art's policy when a team member is upset or frustrated is to have an open conversation about the issue, unfortunately in this case this person clearly is disgruntled, and we were not able to have such conversation. We are proud to be able to be approachable and open to feedback and conversation, this person has never reached out to us to discuss or to request a credit change - something that is often fixable if that person was left out by mistake or any other reason. That being said, we have no reason to leave someone out of a credit intentionally. If you're an artist you have to actually create art for the project that is not completely thrown out due to bad quality to get a credit - this is pretty common practice in this industry. Ryzin Art's policy is that pay increases are given out based on a team members performance, this team member's performance was consistently lacking and not up to our strict standards, even with careful coaching and feedback and ample opportunity to improve. We are a small company that values our team's health, and we do everything we can to keep them happy. We, being a service provider, the work we produce is the Intellectual Property of our clients not ours (or yours). Credits and or publicly showing artwork are at the sole discretion of our clients. To add, this person was let go due to frequent mistakes, being late on assignments, and in general, very poor performance. Our feedback for you is to take the time to educate yourself and focus on learning and getting better as an artist.
