Pros

I learned more in my 6 weeks of being moved to working on-site than I did in my 2 years of working from home.

Cons

Leadership in Logistics is corrupt, deceitful, and full of favoritism and preferential treatment. The role I applied for and offer I accepted was not the type of work I was expecting. Instead, I was called a Project Manager without being compensated what PMs should be paid. Training was inadequate and guidance was lacking. I was asked if I would be interested in exploring opportunities outside my group. Due to my one of my managers being an absolute cold-blooded robot with no people skills and my other manager being an annoying micromanager, I was open to it. After “interviewing” on of my managers asked what I thought about Role B to which I truthfully replied was not for me since it did not offer WFH flexibility and did not allow 9/80 schedule. Her response was that’s too bad and I’ll be reporting on site the following week. What’s most frustrating was I was never informed I was being moved due to my role being eliminated and they never asked what kind of role I would be interested based on my experience and education (BS Logistics and MBA). I got moved to a direct employee role in a warehouse setting that could be done by a high school graduate. The HR rep offered no support after I was moved. DO NOT WORK FOR THIS ORGANIZATION!

Pros

I worked at Raytheon for over 4 years and had a great experience. The company provided many learning and growth opportunities. I was promoted twice during my tenure with the company, and my responsibility increased significantly. I felt like my management supported me and provided me with the career mentorship that I was seeking. I felt empowered and respected during my time there.

Cons

It can be difficult to work at such a large defense contractor company because of all the process and red tape. Things can move slowly, you have to be patient and pick your battles. That being said, if you learn how to work within the system, you can make a significant impact here!
