Some potential, but if you're a contractor, not so much - Human Resources Coordinator RTX Employee Review

Pros

It's a huge company - 70,000 plus people - with locations all over the world. If you're willing to work hard, there is potential to be promoted. You usually will put in long hours, but you have flexibility to come in later and work from home. Salaries are comparable or better to other defense contractors, and you are eligible for benefits on the first day of employment.

Cons

Management is clueless and unprofessional - there is one manager who NEVER forgets anything and takes things way too personally and "punishes" people as she sees fit. HR does not have a reputation of being very effective when listening to employee complaints. As with most large corporations, the rank and file employees do all the work and management pretty much coasts.

Pros

I worked at Raytheon for over 4 years and had a great experience. The company provided many learning and growth opportunities. I was promoted twice during my tenure with the company, and my responsibility increased significantly. I felt like my management supported me and provided me with the career mentorship that I was seeking. I felt empowered and respected during my time there.

Cons

It can be difficult to work at such a large defense contractor company because of all the process and red tape. Things can move slowly, you have to be patient and pick your battles. That being said, if you learn how to work within the system, you can make a significant impact here!
