Pros
Excellent benefits, vacation time, etc. We worked a 9/80 schedule which made every other weekend a three day weekend. Holidays were "saved" for the Xmas season, allowing extended Xmas vacation.
Cons
At Raytheon we had functional managers who typically did not assign work. The result was that our manager often had no direct knowledge of our work. Further, when managing others, those who performed poorly would often not name you as a manager, thereby attempting to obtain a better review.
