Pros
Able to "bank" hours up to 40 hours, however this was being assessed when I left, unsure if this is still a thing.
Cons
Shift work, 12 hours, 4 days on 4 days off, at least that is what is told to you at first. A minimum of 2 overtime shifts a month, also if you do not/ are not able to do these shifts and more, you will not get a decent annual raise. Management is a joke. Example : Our boss dissiminates an email that the contract is going away, then holds a meeting to tell us not to worry. Another example, I had my boss tell me to not bother to apply for an internal job because I hadn't been there for a full year (10 months), During one of our crew meetings, he informs the crews he is disappointed no one applied for the internal job (I ended up getting the job, no thanks to him). The environment that is fostered is almost like high school, it is comical. as for career progression, there are really only two ways to go and they both cap out at E-3. Pay raises (expect about 1-2 %)
