Pros

Raytheon is a very easy and safe place to work. If an individual enjoys a slow and comfortable pace of work they will enjoy working at Raytheon. The company is not the best place for an ambitious high achiever. The flexible work schedule (9/80) and ample time off are nice. In general employees are treated with respect. Lots of opportunities for growth in the future given the aging work force.

Cons

Slow pace of work and advancement. There can be a glass ceiling in certain functional areas if you do not have a military background or engineering background. Working with the government is slow and not very interesting. Your counterparts on the government side are often not up to par in terms of their overall intellect and talent.

Pros

I worked at Raytheon for over 4 years and had a great experience. The company provided many learning and growth opportunities. I was promoted twice during my tenure with the company, and my responsibility increased significantly. I felt like my management supported me and provided me with the career mentorship that I was seeking. I felt empowered and respected during my time there.

Cons

It can be difficult to work at such a large defense contractor company because of all the process and red tape. Things can move slowly, you have to be patient and pick your battles. That being said, if you learn how to work within the system, you can make a significant impact here!
