McGladrey is a great place to work if you're looking for a national firm that makes a strong effort to help you achieve a good work/life balance. McGladrey provides a great opportunity to achieve strong professional growth as it is a firm with national resources that serves middle market companies. You will find the majority of your experience involves working closely with your client's Sr. management team which you may not get by working at a "Big 4" firm. You will also find that the breadth and depth of your experience with McGladrey far exceeds that of experience with a "Big 4" firm.
Cons
Although McGladrey claims to offer competitive compensation it has been my experience that as I have progressed from an associate right out of college to the level of Supervisor McGladrey has lacked the ability to appropriately reward it's employees proportionately to the level of their contributions. I have seen too many instances that McGladrey will consistently fail to recognize their top performers.
