Colleagues are the best!!! Union shop (good and bad) Lots of overtime

Where do I begin? The point system is outrageous. You get 6 attendance points for life! You can earn a point back after10 weeks of consecutive attendance. Supervisors treat people like trash and laugh when they come to you with 15 minutes until the end of your shift to tell you that you have to work 4 hours over. Favoritism runs rampant. Being a union shop gives you job protection, but also protects the weak employees. This puts a lot of extra work on the employees that are good workers. VERY high turnover rate, mostly because of the unreasonable point system. Management acts like they are the ones responsible for the jobs getting completed, when everyone knows the line workers are the butter on the bread. Very hot in the summer…..very hot! When it gets humid they turn on the heaters so the parts will not rust. For God’s sake invest in a climate control system! During this COVID-19 mess the management was very attentive at first, but it got a lot more lax after a few months. It felt like I was taking a chance every time I came to work.19 days in a row until you get a weekend off really interferes with any kind of home life. Overwork will burn you out after a few years. Machines are constantly breaking down. The company preaches safety, but only because they don’t want to be sued. Not because they actually care about you. Shift premium is a joke +25 cents per hour for 3rd shift and +35 cent per hour for second shift. Employees are treated like cattle fodder, chew you up and spit you out. Union representative will make deals with the company and not tell the employees until the supervisors tell us. Shady! We pay 56 dollars a month for a union that’s weaker than a wet napkin. The company can invest in office renovations but can’t invest in better machines to help the employees do a better job. Seriously bad communication between management and hourly workers. If you have a concern about the way things are run management will look down upon you. Pay rate is getting outdated, the cost of living goes up and pay only goes up every 3 years when the union contact is renewed. 2020 was supposed to be a contract renewal year but no new contract and only a $1,500 bonus and 2 attendance points. No raise. They said no negotiation because of COVID-19, but it’s ok for employees to come to work and take that chance. So it’s been 4 years without a raise! Good news they have profit sharing at RSDC! Buuuuut it’s always a 40 hour profit sharing, not actually a percentage of the profit!! Until management gets a clue I would never recommend RSDC to my enemy let alone anyone I care about. Keep your self respect and work at Taco Bell!
