Pros

Noble job in terms of the Humanitarian aspect when interacting with refugees,

Cons

Toxic work environment. There's a lot of nepotism and unfairness. Even if you are a caseworker scheduled to travel, you will not travel if you are not connected to anyone, especially managers: either in kind, cash or family ties and there's a lot of family ties in this organization. Consider work-life balance a thing of the past working here. They keep increasing minimum requirements and mounting pressure in equal measure. Completing these tasks within the given time frame is a miracle. You have to work extra hours without pay.

Pros

The mission is admirable and get to travel.

Cons

Worst job I ever had. Abusive environment, especially managers. The atmosphere is toxic and everyone is afraid to speak out so denial sets in.

Pros

You get to help people in need and travel while doing it.

Cons

This is an organisation that pretends to have integrity, accountability and ownership. In reality they prioritise bullying, incompetence and the promotion of their friends regardless of leadership skills. The senior management team are callous and unfeeling and hate staff that question or challenge the status quo. They steal employee hours by making them work extra hours without pay, employ tricky tactics to save on staff salaries and always reminding the staff that they are paying them using US tax payers money as If they are giving them aid rather than paying for services. Work here only if you have no other option.
