Pros

Free snacks and variety of free drinks

Cons

Would like to start this by saying I am not a disgruntled employee who was fired, I have been in the professional world prior to this job and there are some big red flags to be aware of. -They recruit right out of college for very cheap labor, making you sign a GLOBAL non-compete which is unheard of for an agency so small (and quite frankly no one outside of Raleigh knows who ROI is so why do they care). Expect a very low salary and not having the option of going to another agency -Since most of the employees that are right out of college they are still in "party mode", drinking and hooking up with each other making it for an awkward work environment -The employees that do get promoted to leadership roles have no idea what they are doing and lead teams where they have no knowledge or prior experience in the area -No proper training -There is a very high turnover rate, something to consider when looking at a company -Huge lack of trust and flexibility. They allow 1 work from home day a month, but not for 9 months after your hire date. They try to show flexibility by having a leave early and come late day twice a month, but you are not paid for that, or anything that causes you to be gone for more than 21 minutes. Most other companies understand that life happens and if you need to leave an hour early one day for a dentist appointment, it's not a big deal why dock your compensation. Other companies trust that you will get your work done without needing to be tracked. Not ROI. -Team leads and management don't fight for their employees, they only follow what HR wants -Raises are only within your "band" so very small and no room for negotiation These are only a few of the cons. There are so many amazing companies in the RTP area, I suggest you look there instead.

Thank you for feedback, I'm committed to creating a place and a culture where we are excited to come to work every day and both new and experienced team members can grow their career so I'm disappointed to hear about some of your experiences. A few thoughts: You're right that we recruit from local universities (for internships and entry level positions) but we also devote a significant amount of our recruiting resources to identifying and sourcing candidates with outside work experience like you. Because much of the work we do for our customers is highly unique we are most often able to help someone who is 'smart and can get things done' enter a field without specialized experience. Over the last few years I've led our shift to becoming a well-recognized, full service digital agency for large, internationally known brands and because of that it's led to a couple instances where someone who leads a team is new to that specific service but those instances are rare. Typically a team lead has a good number of years of experience in the service (either organically or through professional experience). Proper training and continuous learning are things we work hard to provide to our team members. Our Learning and Development team provides a variety of resources for employees regardless of their role and tenure. For example, we have new hire training programs, soft skills trainings, technical trainings, hands-on workshops, new hire mentorship programs, new manager mentorship programs, and leadership training, just to name a few :). We utilize a combination of internal subject matter experts, research-based approaches and external resources to provide employees with the best content possible. Given our focus on growth for both our clients and our employees, this is an area we in which we will continue to invest. In addition to formal "classroom" style training, I'm a big believer in pairing, something we do extensively on our dev team, to foster a learning environment, eliminate towers of knowledge, and teach/question one another in the specific technical discipline we're working in. It's something that I'm focused on expanding in the near term. And while we have added additional flexibility that allows for manager discretion when "life happens", for the most part that kind of collaborative effort requires people to be in the same place at the same time. Finally, our compensation and benefits package for all positions in the company is more than competitive against the market. While it's rare today that someone grows their career at one company for life, ROI Revolution has dozens of employees who have started here and grown their career and income significantly, many for 5, 10+ years. As always, I'm open to thoughts on ways to more completely appreciate the hard work that goes into delighting our clients every day; feel free to talk with me directly about this if you have any further ideas or even additional feedback on anything else: timothy [at] roirevolution [dot] com or x4202. -Timothy

Pros

ROI has an incredibly positive and supportive culture. Across every team I’ve worked with, people are consistently kind, intelligent, collaborative, and genuinely invested in helping each other succeed. The level of talent across the organization is motivating because you’re surrounded by experts who care deeply about producing great work. Leadership is exceptionally transparent and thoughtful. There’s a strong level of communication and clarity around company goals, decisions, and expectations, which creates a lot of trust across the organization. The company also places a strong emphasis on growth and development. We have a dedicated Client Services Learning & Development Manager who creates trainings based on current trends in the digital marketing space and real challenges teams are actively navigating, which makes the learning opportunities feel relevant and practical. Work life balance is another major positive. Employees start with four weeks of PTO, which increases with tenure, and the company has core working hours from 9:30 AM to 4:30 PM. Most teams typically work around 40 to 45 hours per week. The hybrid schedule is also a great benefit. Teams are in office 2 to 3 days a week, which allows for collaboration and relationship building while still offering flexibility to work remotely. The office environment has great energy, and there are plenty of opportunities to connect with coworkers through weekly catered lunches, happy hours, and team events.

Cons

The company hires exceptionally strong talent, which creates a high standard of excellence and accountability across teams. The environment is fast paced, with an expectation that employees take ownership, stay proactive, and consistently produce high quality work. It’s great for individuals who thrive in collaborative, high performing environments, but it may feel challenging for those who prefer a slower pace or need more structure around prioritization and time management.

Pros

Working at ROI Revolution has many positives, particularly the culture of collaboration. You never feel like you’re on an island because there is always excellent brainstorming and resource support available. The peer-to-peer support is outstanding, and it is incredibly motivating to work alongside fellow problem-solvers who share a consistent drive to deliver excellent work for our clients. Additionally, despite being an agency, the work-life balance here is actually been really wonderful the last several years - I think this is largely due to improvements in how client portfolios and team sizes are set. I also have to shout out our admin team for providing wonderful office perks, and our HR team, who are incredibly supportive, accessible, and genuinely helpful.

Cons

Agency life naturally comes with occasional high-pressure periods, and the intensity can vary depending on the client and how they're performing. At times, some members of Senior Leadership may get more directly involved with specific accounts, which can create extra urgency or require some additional lift from the team. That said, the support and collaboration across the organization helps those moments feel manageable.
