A Great Place to Start. A Horrible Place to Stay. - Residential Counselor RISE Life Services Employee Review

Pros

Working with the residents is a joy, for the most part. The work load for a Residential Counselor is relatively moderate, yet challenging. Its a good first step for workers in the mental health industry.

Cons

You get paid next to nothing in comparison to the industry at large. Management is all over the place and offers gift cards instead of proper raises or bonuses passed the initial sign on bonuses. Communication between management and employees is awful. The turn over rate for RISE Life Services is incredible. I've seen people come in for a week then leave. I received next to no training when I first started at my residence and had to learn on my own.

Pros

Work-life balance is good, variety in shift hours (AM,PM and overnight)

Cons

Unorganized main office, poor communication between management. Went months without being paid properly, you have to be on top of your time. Hard to get assistance from leadership.
