Pros

28 days holiday with ability to carry 5 over each year.

Cons

A combined company wide restructure and a UK mandated return to the office for 3 days a week in 2025 caused a colossal change at RICS and we were told if you don't like it, then you better leave. This applied to all staff, even those who lived 2 hours or more from an office base. The company went from having flexibility as it's main strength, to having no flexibility at all. Employees with protected characteristics were denied flexible working requests and reasonable adjustments which although wasn't illegal, was certainly morally wrong. People are afraid to call in sick, desk bookings and card swiping are being monitored and entire teams have been let go if they don't show up to the office. They lost a huge talent pool of passionate people, The restructure wasn't thought through thoroughly enough and almost a year down the line they are adding more vacancies where clear holes were created in the restructure, going from working together globally, to siloed countries/teams not operating smoothly. Members are king in this organisation, and employees are left by the wayside. It is learned helplessness at it's finest.

Pros

Exposure to high level professionals in the property profession, annual professional development course, and good benefits package.

Cons

The local office leadership is lacking in a way that is detrimental to the success of the organization. There's a lack of direction, death by meetings - which usually ends with no further action being taken, the Managing Director's ego is inflated and he has yet to deliver on annual membership acquisition goals, male-centric US office environment, blatant bias, and a lack of transparency. Management is secretive and shady. Outdated software and poor technical support.
