Pros

Competitive Pay, endless spending budget, beautiful workplace

Cons

Worst Place I have ever worked for in my life, and I have had my fair share of jobs throughout my career from hourly positions and moving into leadership. I chose to ignore all the reviews I read on Glassdoor when I joined the brand because I was being offered a pretty decent package as well as a great career opportunity. Read on: Discrimination: newer locations will hire based on looks and age and very open about this process. I can vouch for this because I had to do this. Hire associates based on looks as well as fire associates based on looks. Toxic Work Environment: no work life balance, outrageous hours. If Gary is hungry at 4am, you will work until 4am to prepare his waffle, chicken, or favorite burger. Everyone is on Gary time. Cult Like Environment: Gary has a “God Complex” and all Executive team nurtures the behavior in order to collect the high wages. However most agree he’s out of his mind. Preach Values Vision and Beliefs in a doctrinal manner however internally do not live the values whatsoever Favoritism: other leaders will lose themselves into the Vision and discrimination is in abundance Internal manipulation and exploitation: lies are fed to buy your time. Staff is treated less than human and expected to work in less than favorable conditions especially housekeeping teams

Pros

One of the strongest aspects of this role is the autonomy. I’m trusted to make decisions that genuinely support the customer experience without constant approval from leadership. If I believe an exchange plus a $250 gift card is the right solution to preserve a relationship, I’m empowered to do that. That level of trust creates confidence and allows us to move quickly when issues arise. Leadership is accessible when needed, especially in escalated situations. I’ve never felt left alone to manage something beyond my scope. There is also regular voluntary overtime available, which is a plus for those looking to increase their hours. For someone transitioning from another industry, the environment feels more structured and brand-focused, which has been refreshing

Cons

The clientele can be challenging. Some customers assume that spending thousands of dollars entitles them to treat frontline employees disrespectfully, even when those employees had no involvement in the original issue. It can also be frustrating to hold a boundary with a customer, only to see it reversed after escalation. While I understand the desire to preserve relationships, it can unintentionally undermine employee confidence and consistency in standards. Because RH carries so many collections and product variations, the learning curve is steep. Customers often expect immediate, detailed product knowledge, which takes time to develop.
