Pros

Other design consultants were great, management, not so much.

Cons

This is honestly the worst place I have ever worked. I don’t even know where to begin. The atmosphere is very “cult-like” where they promote their values yet don’t live by them for a single day. They will say they care about you as a person and not just about the money yet EVERY conversation is centered around money and if you’re not meeting their outrageous fiscal goals you will get called out and ridiculed. The schedule is erratic and you’ll close one night and immediately open the next morning. They have no regard for your life outside of work or your mental health. They expect you to treat this job like it’s the center of your life but will not compensate you at all. Management is the core of the problem at RH but will take no responsibility for any of it and place blame on their employees. There is extreme favoritism at play as well and it’s the same five people who are always creating the drama and putting others down. To top it all off there is no growth in this company and will compensate all your hard work with less than $1 raise. If I could rate this company zero stars I would do so.

Pros

One of the strongest aspects of this role is the autonomy. I’m trusted to make decisions that genuinely support the customer experience without constant approval from leadership. If I believe an exchange plus a $250 gift card is the right solution to preserve a relationship, I’m empowered to do that. That level of trust creates confidence and allows us to move quickly when issues arise. Leadership is accessible when needed, especially in escalated situations. I’ve never felt left alone to manage something beyond my scope. There is also regular voluntary overtime available, which is a plus for those looking to increase their hours. For someone transitioning from another industry, the environment feels more structured and brand-focused, which has been refreshing

Cons

The clientele can be challenging. Some customers assume that spending thousands of dollars entitles them to treat frontline employees disrespectfully, even when those employees had no involvement in the original issue. It can also be frustrating to hold a boundary with a customer, only to see it reversed after escalation. While I understand the desire to preserve relationships, it can unintentionally undermine employee confidence and consistency in standards. Because RH carries so many collections and product variations, the learning curve is steep. Customers often expect immediate, detailed product knowledge, which takes time to develop.
