Pros

Communication is great and I never have a problem contacting management, who are always very supportive, helpful and recognise achievement and progress. In my experience they are a solution focused company who strive to ensure that I am able to progress in my career through relevant and engaging training opportunities which are to an extremely high standard. Management go above and beyond to make sure that those training opportunities are available to all. I feel that staff welfare is obviously a priority to the company, not only for me but also for my dog, whose needs are also considered and prioritised. I've seen first hand that client relations are excellent, as a site supervisor I am kept updated and am able to cascade information to my team quickly and efficiently thanks to the open lines of communication from my line manager (and superiors).

Cons

I can't provide a con, I haven't had any negative experiences at all.

Pros

The road leading away from the place

Cons

Inconsistent shift patterns ,management sending out handlers with unlicensed dogs and threatening them with dismissal when they question this practice. Substandard accommodation with rent deductions not shown on the payslip , a distinct lack of privacy with management walking around your accommodation when you aren’t present and tampering with personal property, open hostility from the management towards handlers with prior handling experience particularly those from a military , police or civilian trainer background. Insulting emails sent out to employees and when employees want to speak with management over this they refuse to engage and actively hide in the office. Massive nepotism with management only in role through family connections and not skillset. Substandard training and terrible animal welfare. Unsafe and untaxed staff vehicles with no fans or other cooling systems provided for the dogs in said vehicles.

Pros

A variety of sites to operate and pay is good. Yes, I wasn’t living on the door step but I was there to gain experience and earn. RFA invests in training - instructor out amongst the team which is a huge positive. Training is also done at site, which personally is great as previous to RFA I had to arrange CT on my days off. There was an old school approach from management when it comes to standards. Personally I got on with upper management. I thought they were fair and supported me when I had some personal issues going on.

Cons

The schedule changing last minute was a pet hate and the kennel technicians were argumentative. I understand there’s a new team now.
