Average job, slightly below average pay. Good first job but ultimately a stepping stone. - Mechanical Engineer I RFA Engineering Employee Review

Pros

Good on-site management at customer facility. Ability to work remotely ~2 days per week depending on factory responsibilities.

Cons

Benefits somewhat sub-par. Health insurance benefits are average. 7 paid holidays and 5 days of PTO for first 6 months, 5 days of PTO for second 6 months, 5 days after one year, and 10 days after years 2 through 4. Customer facility shuts down for the week after Christmas (without pay for agency employees) and customer facility has 10 paid holidays. This means that in order to match the customer site’s schedule, you effectively receive ~3 days of PTO for your first year. This was not communicated during the hiring process and was the second major reason for leaving the agency, next to finding a job with a higher salary for the same experience level.

Thanks for the review! It may be a little strong to say we cut pay around the holidays. We have multiple ways to handle customer shut-downs, which include bonus time, PTO and yes the option to go un-paid as your choice if you do not want to accrue bonus time, or utilize your PTO. Not sure I follow your math, but apologies if the communication wasn't clear when you were hired.
