Pros

The scope of renewable energy if aligned with passion. Straightforward CEO. A few good people. Tough work will force you to learn fast. Toxic culture makes you mentally stronger.

Cons

Heavy department cross fire. Departments hiding secrets from one another and not working together to resolve issues. Big time communication issues. A lot of finger pointing. It's a buffet of selfish and self centered people; particularly at the level of manager and above. A lot of biased favouritism. Some management who can't take constructive critism. Lots of credit snatchers. Some people not sharing their experience and knowledge. BIGGEST ISSUE: Workplace harrassment/ bullying There is so much to say but this is the worst. There is so much bullying, its disgusting. You know it's bad when you see adults tearing. People who lost their confidence and became a really frightened kitten. When you can't beat them, many join them. Thus, making it worse. I'm as guilty as the anyone else who witness the bullying and not doing anything about it. Im ashamed of it and I want to let those bullied colleagues know that I'm sorry because like a lot of us, we are afraid of the repercussions. To survive, many had to put on a fascade. Because of this, many talented young people left. Hence I advise against joining, unless your passion is not easily doused and you can take the above.

Pros

- Cooperative and collaborative working level staff makes work more enjoyable. - Good to learn for a first job and to train tenacity.

Cons

Location is very deep in Tuas even with island wide company transport, do expect ~1 hour of travelling to office. Department level - High turnover rate - Firefighting with no time for improvement works - High expectations. (always required to start work 20 min ahead of time to complete task for daily morning meeting, high tendency to be questioned critically every morning if data is not prepared 15mins after start work hour) - Dismissal of employee effort. - Focus on employee shortcomings rather than solving the issue at hand - Workplace favoritism (Extra critical on non-favorite employee, extra lenient with favorite employee) - Unwilling to approve leave for non-favourite employee - Gaslighting (Accused of intentionally underperforming) Company level - Company tends to “Squeeze” employee to ensure production is smooth - Company provides little opportunity for learning of new skills, learning are mostly on job training. - Company direction tends to change on very short notice, leading to higher stress levels with the many changes and correction required in short notice. - Higher management seems to be promoting faster than working level staffs
