Pros
Cheap medical option. Some freebies here and there like bagels on Fridays. Coworkers are pretty friendly and sociable. Relatively decent pay for a low skill job.
Cons
Where do I start...possibly the most condescending thing they have done was to send us a personalized compensation report that calculates our "true compensation" that factors in benefits they offer to us on top of a salary. That's actually useful EXCEPT that they included unemployment, social security, and potential benefits that I have not exercised (e.g. 401k matching). If it was a way to boost morale, they were sorely mistaken. They are very passive aggressive when it comes to policy. Instead of giving direct and useful feedback when mistakes are made, they hint (at least I think they did that in retrospect) then throw down the hammer after they compile evidence against you. It's a degrading way to treat someone. They definitely foster an adversarial relationship between management and workers. Their performance evaluation system makes it difficult to really stand out since doing your job excellently is still a 3 out of 5. I personally offered my help and expertise many, many times but they make it difficult to take advantage of opportunities to grow and advance. Also, just knowing what kind of awful industry they are capitalizing off of makes it that much more difficult to swallow their justifications for "business improvements" that are essentially anti-worker. This is a place where you should definitely be worried whenever HR contacts you directly. They literally have an eye on you with cameras all throughout the office including stairwells. Employees are given no trust and it's depressing.
