      Horrible Management, Unfulfilling Mission - AR/Denials Specialist R1 RCM Employee Review

      Pros

      Anyone who is not in a management position is very nice and welcoming.

      Cons

      Brought in new management in 2023 and they are making unfair changes, specifically in Client Delivery. Fired many employees unfairly. All they want you to do is work work work and it doesn’t matter if you feel fulfilled or accomplished at the end of the day. They just care how much money you helped a customer recover which = money for the company.

      Amazing work life balance and flexible hours with many projects to learn from

      No promotions, and the yearly pay increase is basically the inflation rate

      Pros

      The voluntary separation offer was good.

      Cons

      I and hundreds of colleagues were transferred from Providence Health & Services to R1. We were told we were guaranteed our jobs for a year. They started offering voluntary separation packages less than a year in. This was suspicious. I didn't take the first couple of offers, but eventually I did - things were feeling uneasy. Since leaving I've heard that there were several layoffs. R1's India team has taken over a lot of the coding we were doing. In the reviews I read before we started with R1 I know losing jobs to the India team was common. I'm glad I left when I did but it's been hard finding a new job.
