      Pros

      Autonomy. Opportunities for advancement are available if you can get in front of the right people. I stayed a short time before accepting another role, and it was more than enough time to give me gray hair.

      Cons

      Lack of internal infrastructure for a company of this size, little leadership support, highly political, nepotism is rampant. Lack of clear professional development.

      No promotions, and the yearly pay increase is basically the inflation rate

      Pros

      The voluntary separation offer was good.

      Cons

      I and hundreds of colleagues were transferred from Providence Health & Services to R1. We were told we were guaranteed our jobs for a year. They started offering voluntary separation packages less than a year in. This was suspicious. I didn't take the first couple of offers, but eventually I did - things were feeling uneasy. Since leaving I've heard that there were several layoffs. R1's India team has taken over a lot of the coding we were doing. In the reviews I read before we started with R1 I know losing jobs to the India team was common. I'm glad I left when I did but it's been hard finding a new job.
