Pros

It’s very hard to come up with any. Location downtown is good I suppose.

Cons

If you’re contemplating joining this company, run and run fast. Executive leadership is the worst, most incompetent bunch I’ve seen in my 20 year career. It’s clear that they (and the private equity firm) are only there to drive the stock price to a certain level, cash in on their windfall and move on. There is no investment in the employees, no culture to speak of and it’s a constant game of “who will be fired next because so and so doesn’t like them”. If you’re not part of the executive team’s clique, you will be treated disrespectfully and eventually “laid off”. It’s an interesting case study on how to take grossly under qualified rejects from other bigger name companies, call them “executives”, give them just enough rope to bring the stock price up a few bucks and watch the equity firm cash in. This is a horrible company with no regard for its employees, it’s customers or doing what is even remotely ethical.

Pros

The voluntary separation offer was good.

Cons

I and hundreds of colleagues were transferred from Providence Health & Services to R1. We were told we were guaranteed our jobs for a year. They started offering voluntary separation packages less than a year in. This was suspicious. I didn't take the first couple of offers, but eventually I did - things were feeling uneasy. Since leaving I've heard that there were several layoffs. R1's India team has taken over a lot of the coding we were doing. In the reviews I read before we started with R1 I know losing jobs to the India team was common. I'm glad I left when I did but it's been hard finding a new job.
