Pros

Qured is creating a genuinely exciting, much-needed product and it’s starting to gain strong market traction. It’s a truly mission-led company — the vision is to help a million people lead healthier lives, something all of us are passionate about. After a few false starts with finding the right product, there’s a slim-lined, more cohesive leadership team, pulling in the same direction. Trust and psychological safety are being properly prioritised. This makes a massive difference. Things are starting to move fast. There’s the potential to have a massive impact as there’s so much to get done and everyone has a substantial, meaningful role to play. I am learning a huge amount in a very short time.

Cons

First, let’s address the elephant in the room. Some of the comments here are pretty negative, and there is some truth in them. There were dominant figures in senior roles who did not treat their colleagues with the respect they deserved. That behaviour is unacceptable and those people are no longer at the company. Lesson very much learned, though my apologies for those who suffered as a result. Now onto the rest. It’s hard work being at an early stage company: it’s uncertain, it’s bumpy, there is no one to teach you how to do your role (although we are very willing to support one another). We do our best but our onboarding tends more towards “OK, it’s week 2, go figure it out” vibe. If you need your hand to be held, or aren’t willing to get your hands dirty, this may not be much fun. On the other hand if you hate being told what to do and how to do it, perhaps this sounds like just the thing?

Pros

Qured is like Gandalf who dies in the first movie but then comes back to life with superpowers in the second. Many of the comments here date to Qured's first movie, which was a bit of a tragic first act where nothing seemed to be working, everyone made a lot of mistakes, and we lost a lot of people, almost losing it all. Since the new year however, Qured is a completely new company. Those who remain have formed an honest, happy, high performance, team. The leadership team is united and much better integrated with the organisation as a whole. We've finally discovered product-market fit, getting unbelievably good feedback from our customers and winning new contracts. Not everything is fixed, but everything seems to be trending that way. If you want to be a part of a startup with a meaningful chance of changing the world, this may be the opportunity you've been waiting for.

Cons

Growth is now outpacing capacity, so there's a lot to do while we figure out how to scale
