QueensCare (Q) is a great company to work for. The company has been serving the under-served for many decades. Q management and staff have been dedicated to provide great care to thousands of patients in the Los Angeles' neighborhoods. QueensCare Health Centers (QHC), which works with QueensCare and many of the employees work for both, offers a convenient one-stop shop for the patients from primary care, to obgyn, dental, optometry, cardiology and podiatry. The care model is one of the best, it is a patient care model home (PCMH) level 3 and has high quality outcome results. The patient team includes clinical pharmacy, nursing, LVN care coordinators, CHW and CMAs. Two of the locations have a full outpatient pharmacy, lead by a great pharmacy director who goes above and beyond for the patients. Q/QHC offers competitive wages and benefits, which is reviewed and evaluated often by outside consultants. The EMR system is one of the best in the market, to assist in capturing opportunities for gaps in care and clinical support for the team members. Anyone who is fortunate enough to work either Q/QHC will learn quickly what a great place to learn and grow in a leading FQHC healthcare environment. Cons
Many in the recent past have had difficulty understanding or accepting all of the changes Q/QHC has gone through over the last few years, new Health Center, management structure, EMR system, organization structure, new administration building. etc. All of these changes were made to improve the overall company long-term strategy to improve the patient care and compete in the new market place. Communication, accountability and transparency are common struggles in most companies including Q/QHC but they are making efforts to address this weakness that has been identified.
