Pros

- Great software stack that actually adds value to users - Strong tech for UI especially for UI and embedded projects - Huge base of users for the stack as it is also open-source

Cons

- APAC Leadership with the VP of APAC and country head sitting in the same office promotes a very toxic work culture with no respect to employees personal problems or emergencies(I have seen an employees illness which later lead to his death being made fun of as an acting skill despite his wife crying and informing the team about his hospitalisation and loss of consciousness for a day) - No work life balance and very poor pays compared to industry standards (saying based on experience as well as seeing others pays for similar role) - No growth even when you give your 200% to the team QoQ/YoY. - APAC leadership Prefers demoting star performers for non performers only because they know how to be nice to the leadership - Micromanagement to a level where your hours clocked including tea breaks, lunch breaks & personal calls are monitored. - Expect a peaceful life only if you can be nice and a "yes man" to specific set of people in leadership - they ask you to share feedback to learn, grow and improve as an org, but if you fall for it and give honest feedback there is a target on your back. - Expect you to work from 8AM -10PM. - No Support for customers locally. - No respect for seniors staff who put in their years to the local teams growth. - A people and culture team which thinks that clocking 8 hours is more critical for its employees than attending to urgent family needs. (I have seen an employee punished for going home a couple of hours early because of family emergency) - Different rules for different people (if you are close and nice to leadership you get unrestricted off from office and if you are not in good books with them then you have to be in office irrespective of an emergency - Best performers are pressed hard and demotivated till their performance drops and then asked to leave if they can't handle the stress and be nice to the APAC leadership.

Pros

I love the 2 direct managers I had during my time at Qt, as well as my team. I learned so much from them, especially starting at Qt early in my career. A lot of the colleagues I worked with on a day to day basis are also amazing people.

Cons

This company had issues when I joined, and things have exponentially deteriorated since. Upper management is the most disorganized and toxic I've encountered. Revenue targets are set unrealistically high, and when they're inevitably missed, major changes are made far too quickly, and then the cycle repeats annually. This constant cycle makes it nearly impossible for employees to feel settled or actually focus on their work. Employees consistently lack the tools, support, and guidance needed to succeed. When these gaps are raised, feedback goes unheard or is dismissed as too costly, yet leadership acts surprised when goals aren't met. There is no growth potential here. HR developed a career matrix a few years ago, but in practice it means nothing. After a year of consistently meeting the competencies for the next level, as agreed with by my direct manager, I was passed over for promotion my last cycle here despite being a four-year employee. It was a huge slap in the face. In general at Qt, HR was largely unsupportive and, at times, actively combative. In reality, working at Qt is about 90% navigating internal dysfunction and politics, and 10% doing actual work. I'll genuinely miss my immediate team and several colleagues, but absolutely nothing else about this company.
