Pros
People working in the trenches are genuinely nice. Pay is fair. Carpathia acquisition may add some much needed leadership. I’m not a coffee drinker, but apparently that is one of things the company has going for it.
Cons
Remember the scene in Apocalypse Now where Kurtz (Marlon Brando) is lying on his death bed saying “The horror. The horror….”? Working for QTS is sort of like that, but with free coffee. Ok, maybe it’s not that bad, but it’s pretty bad. Read the other reviews if you don’t believe me. While there are a number of bright and capable people working at QTS, the lack of processes and absence of standard operating procedures makes it impossible for most people to do their jobs effectively. Couple that with the horrible leadership practices (e.g. weird organizational hierarchy, rampant nepotism, a COO who is obsessed with making everyone in the org go through a useless self-help / communication program instead of filling huge operational gaps, etc.) and you have a recipe for disaster. Did I mention the crying? I’ve never worked in a place where people just start crying in meetings. Between the crying and the CEO espousing his ultra-fundamentalist Christian views, every meeting runs the risk of turning into an old-timey religious revival. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere. Unlike other reviewers I wouldn’t even recommend the company to people just starting out as they will just have to unlearn every bad habit they picked up while working at QTS.
