Pros

game staff are great. Kyoto is a top city to live in. projects are varied including mobile.

Cons

It is an open secret in the videogame industry that Dylan Cuthbert is an abusive boss and a horrible person. I didn't know before I joined, but I quickly learned. Dylan constantly berates his staff, and abuses them for questioning him. He can't take criticism, and only wants to surround himself with people who just agree with him. His poor leadership and vision frequently mean last minute changes that cause overtime for staff. Dylan is out of touch with the industry, making mediocre games, and people can see for themself. the salary is also laughable. Dylan will argue "but you get to live in Kyoto" when really your a hostage on a visa and will be stuck working meaningless overtime The two 5-star reviews from August 2021 are also fake. Dylan wrote one himself. how pathetic and insecure do you have to be to fake reviews, rather than just try to grow and actually be a better boss.

Pros

You can work in an office with other people. Most of them are nice, barring almost everyone in upper management.

Cons

This is a counter to the two entirely fabricated reviews added on August 2nd 2021. Q-Games lures you in with promises of advancing in the game industry, being part of exciting projects and working in a diverse and friendly work environment. It’s in fact one of the quietest studios I’ve ever been in, well except for the verbal abuse staff scream at each other from over their desks. Nepotism is the rule of the day here. Other reviews are right. You only advance if you brown-nose, you only get approval to do what you want if you lick the boot. Upper management now spend their weekdays playing golf. How do I know this? Well they recorded their antics and uploaded it to YouTube of course. There’s a whole series of videos of them playing 18 holes while staff at the company struggle with the ever growing demands of their projects. Oh yes, and there’s ZERO HR in the company. Got a complaint? Bottle it up. Don’t bring it to anyone’s attention because it won’t lead to any real change. Considering that most of the complaints are aimed at the higher ups, forget any chance of having any kind of support. Better off just quitting.
