Pros

I joined Purus in January 2018, and what a breath of fresh air it was! I had come from a large organisation who were an end user of Salesforce, where the work was repetitive and often mundane. That was soon flipped on it's head and the environment I'm now in is fast paced and full of variety. Projects can range from a couple of hours training, all the way up to 50-day complex implementations. Personal development is a key area embedded within the ethos at Purus. I've completed 5 certifications since joining, in which I was supported financially and also given the time to study within office hours. The company are not afraid to invest in the best equipment/software for it's employees to carry out their jobs as effectively as possible and you will always be supported in whatever you are doing. My Work/Life balance is fantastic and hours can be flexible when needed. The office is based right in the centre of Birmingham, so really easy to get to. Generally just a great company to work for!

Cons

I can't really think of any!

Pros

I was relatively new to the IT world, and brand new to Salesforce; what I will say about Purus is that if you invest time and effort and show your willingness to learn and work hard, boy will you get that back fourfold if not more. You can really see how much the directors have invested personally and it is portrayed through the passion they have for what they do, this outlook made me love my job even more. The ongoing support is constant whether it is giving time to learn more about a certain subject or as simple as not being afraid to ask a question. Everyone is made to feel welcome and included even on a smaller scale team. Being able to all help each other and solve issues as a team I believe is extremely rare; nobody's opinion or idea is ignored. Also, in all honesty, it's fun! As long as the work is being done we can have a chat and a laugh every now and then which is really refreshing.

Cons

Due to the team being quite small, when it's quiet it is really quiet; that's just me being picky.

Pros

I joined Purus working in a large corporate environment just shy of 3 years. Purus are a certified Salesforce Partner based in the heart of Birmingham. My initial fear of moving from 2000+ employees in a corporate environment to being the 4th employee of a start up was understandable prevalent. What if there’s not enough work to go around? What if I’m not challenged enough? And what if they cannot support my goals to be Salesforce certified? I was very conscious about making the right move before leaving my previous role, and I am very happy to report my findings so far; - You are beyond supported to achieve success, not to fail. - I broke my ankle of my 3rd day of employment. This would have normally been a deal breaker for most employers. Both directors Leanne and Paul were nothing short of amazing in supporting my learning and making me feel part of the team, even if my first month was vastly remote. - There are no corporate politics, which was a real breath of fresh air. - Any training, courses, or Salesforce exams you feel will benefit you professionally will be paid for, without question. Your professional development comes first (this was mind-blowing for me…) - You get exposure to a wide variety of Salesforce environments, across numerous domains, allowing you to learn a lot in a very short space of time. - I’ve had the support, resource and training to complete my Salesforce Administrator certification within 2 months of joining (winning!!) - New office in the centre of Birmingham, literally opposite New Street station

Cons

- There are times when the business can be very quiet or very busy. All depends on requirements gathering from external stakeholders. Busy periods are great, you can crack on, never get bored and just power through. Quiet periods can be a little more challenging, but they’re pretty rare so take advantage of them by completing Trailheads/studying for your next exam. - It’s hard work. There’s times you’ll be digging and scouring the internet to find answers to a problem you can’t solve. This isn’t a con for me, but I appreciate this may not be everyone’s cup of tea. - I literally cannot think of any others.
