Pros

Health insurance and benefits package was good.

Cons

I’m a former employee of Purohit—not disgruntled in any way; would just like others who may be considering employment to know a bit about the company culture. With regards to the CEO: The CEO may be “passionate,” but her passion is misdirected into micromanagement, rudeness, utter narcissism and a complete disregard and respect for her employees (including certain members of Upper Management). The employee culture is filled with palpable tension, unhappiness and whispers, always wondering who will be heinously demeaned next for attaching files to an email in an order the CEO finds unappealing, not reading her mind or simply working ahead in an incorrect manner. An example of the culture: During my first week of employment, a particular member of management informed me that when the CEO made me cry (and I would cry, she said), I could just come into her office, close the door and she would turn around and give me the time necessary to collect myself. Welcome to Purohit. Creative members of Upper Management are talented, stressed to the max and look like they’re about to have coronaries (hey, it’s the ad world, right?). Like I said, though, they’re talented and truly good people. I would work with them again in a heartbeat, but only under different circumstances. Work/life balance is nonexistent. Do not make plans. Ever. Not even when your wife goes into labor (Oh, it happened). Overall, this incredibly unhealthy environment is truly beyond the scope of what can be covered politely and somewhat professionally in a Glassdoor review.

Pros

I’ve been at Purohit Navigation for 10 years, and over that time, I’ve seen plenty of change, most of it for the better. The firm has evolved into a place that values transparency, collaboration, and a true no-ego culture. With the teams running small, it allows for everyone have a voice and the opportunity to make a real impact. There’s a strong sense of support (people genuinely have each other’s backs) and it creates a tight-knit, get-it-done environment that’s both flexible and empowering. Trust in our ability to do our jobs is clear across the organization, and the flexibility to work remotely (an increasingly rare perk) makes it even stronger. Leadership is a major strength. Our CEO is deeply committed to listening and responding to her team, bringing a level of thoughtfulness and clarity that’s rare. You feel heard, respected, and challenged in the right ways. That mindset carries through the entire team, creating an environment where people genuinely care about what they do, and it shows in the quality of the work. Another meaningful shift over time has been around workload and balance. With better support and a thoughtful reworking of our processes, the amount of overtime has significantly decreased. What used to feel constant is now more occasional and manageable. It’s made a real difference in creating a healthier, more sustainable work-life balance.

Cons

As with many smaller teams, you’re often wearing multiple hats, which can be a stretch at times. The pace can also be fast, so it helps to be adaptable and comfortable with change.

Thank you! You've captured something we highly value. You put into words what we hope everyone feels walking in our door - a culture built on trust, transparency, and genuine care for one another. Hearing that people feel empowered and supported in their work is exactly what we strive for and it's a reflection of the remarkable team we've built together. We're also proud of the progress we've made around workload and sustainability. Creating an environment where people can do their best work while blending the rest of their life is a real priority, and we're glad those efforts are making a meaningful difference. Your point about pace and wearing multiple hats is fair and well-taken. Smaller teams move fast, and that can be a stretch. We remain committed to thoughtful growth that keeps the agility that make us who we are, while continuing to build the support and structure our team deserves.

Pros

The company offers strong opportunities to grow, take on new challenges, and build experience over time. The work is varied across projects and clients, which keeps it engaging and provides broad exposure. The team is friendly, hard-working, and collaborative, and there is also a real benefit to working alongside people with deep experience who are very good at what they do.

Cons

The pace can be demanding at times, particularly during project crunches that require long hours and multiple rounds of iteration. That said, this tends to come with the nature of client service work and a shared commitment to delivering strong work.
