Pros
Fantastic work environment. Engaged leadership team (ignore the naysayers) Flexibility and freedom for a good degree of autonomy. Free fruit. Get treated like a partner instead of an employee, there is a lot of freedom when you're trusted, if you need a work from home day due to builders in the house or need an extra break or need to leave early one day, it's given with no aggro on the good will that employees work hard and don't leave jobs half done. (I know some may not have had this good treatment but i guess that's because it's earnt!) Reasonable salary for Brighton. Made to feel appreciated for hard work done (and it is hard work!) 2 mins from the train station, easily commutable. Constantly able to learn more about tech/industry/strategy. Open plan office, no cubicle nonsense. Amazing colleagues and approachable management.
Cons
The lack of PHP dev resource seems to stifle the company reaching the next level. In 20 months I heard the same story about why we can't make certain improvements to the system. I feel like at times the management are a little lenient on some unwanted behaviours individuals exhibit around the business, but even this is a harsh criticism as most would rather a more lenient management that considers and listens than a ruler with an iron-fist. (Balance potentially needed) There can be extremely stressful situations caused by some historic mishandling of accounts or poor platform performance that ultimately leads to tough conversations/scenarios.
