Pros

The work itself was stimulating and the pay pretty good

Cons

My manager was not equipped to train me and failed to hold themselves accountable for their mistakes, even noting they did not want to attend managerial training to improve on their communication. They were often reactive and many people in the team struggled to get along with them on a professional level. Any disputes were often heated and left me feeling anxious to go to work the next day.

Pros

easy hours, low pressure, close to transit. Staff are friendly, although uninspiring.

Cons

One of the owners is hard to get along with. The projects are not exciting, but they are of a reasonable scale. Your talents will not be appreciated as much as simply following the rules and getting projects done. Oversight is almost non-existent, you should basically expect to come in, put on headphones, work, then go home. You can spend an entire week without talking to anyone. All of the sub-contractors they work with are slackers so you have to be constantly on the phone and on the email with them to get anything done. Usually only after you pay them an exorbitant sum. Government/public work at its finest.

Pros

The hours, location and autonomy to perform your job are decent.

Cons

There is a general lack of basic management practices and leadership, with one partner completely checked out, another uncooperative, negative and undermining. Projects are underwhelming, with much of the work being in support of the MEP primaries.
