Pros

Benefits are supreme. 401K that matches up to 3%, stock, healthcare, life insurance, retirement, bereavement included. There are some great people working there, I made friends for life. Flexible hours and willing to work with students. Anyone can become a manager and you can go far within the company. EX: Store Mngrs. make somewhere near 100k/yr. It's a Fortune 500 company and you automatically become a partial owner because of the great stock program they have.

Cons

I have been extremely discriminated against due to my disability and I know others that have experienced the same. I also know people who have experienced racism, sexism, and ageism within the company. No associate discount. You are always watched and monitored. Most of the managers are real jerks who think they are better than you, even though they all started off as associates like anyone else. Managers get paid less than half of what they make per hour IF they go overtime. Long hours, hard work. Never any positive feedback or comments from management, only negative. Customers can be very rude because they know they will get away with it! Management will never, ever take your side against a customer even if you are 100% right. Then again, it is a corporation! BEWARE! PROCEED WITH EXTREME CAUTION!

Pros

Amazing 401K, free stock after one year of employment, health insurance is very good for part-time employees if only getting it for yourself, management always approves time off requests, hours are always available, will work around school schedules, tuition reimbursement program, will reimburse you for gas for work-related expenses as needed and will put you in a hotel as needed for work-related reasons that are more than 50 miles from your home.

Cons

Not every store is the same, some stores are run better than others, some managers look down upon people with disabilities, and some see people with disabilities the same as someone without disabilities, they are very big about favoritism, you have to work a lot to earn a vacation, the company does not give out sick time and full-time gets the most benefits and is next to impossible to get full-time. Also, you practically have to be a former employee with a clean record or related in some way to a current employee to get a job with the company though Kentucky Publix's don't quite function that way.
