Pros

agency with decent connections to some larger clients in local publications industries; flexible work hours are available; most employees are treated the same

Cons

it's a agency, so the agent always takes a fee, and the noncompete clauses are ironclad. work is tedious. clients expect a lot of online editing, which agency does not really provide/train for.

Pros

Working as an editorial contractor for Pubs Pros is great! They have high standards and performance expectations that match my own. Barb and her staff give helpful feedback and tips to help you complete assignments well and on time.

Cons

The pay could be better.

Pros

Hours are completely under your control. You can take jobs or turn them down. You receive feedback on your work so that you can improve as an editor. Office is very friendly.

Cons

Takes a while to establish a client base, but when clients request you, the work becomes more regular.
