Pros

People in other departments are nice and respectful towards their fellow co-workers in other departments. Doctors are nice and treat other staff (pharmacists, nurses, CNAs, etc) with respect.

Cons

Management here is terrible! Often times pharmacy management will ask you to do their jobs for them (apparently it's pharmacy staff's responsibility to arrange for coverage if someone calls out sick on top of all other responsibilities). Every other place I have worked, you told a manager if someone called off sick and they would take care of it, but here whoever gets the call has to also find someone to cover or the person who answered the call will get in trouble (for not doing the manager's job for them). Pharmacy management will also take all the credit for great work by pharmacy without giving any credit to the staff who did all the real work. Management is only concerned about numbers, so if there's fewer patients who are more sick (who still require more care), they will think it's not busy (and they can just flex people off), but if there's a lot of patients who aren't that sick they will keep staffing levels. Medications are frequently out of stock because people don't do their job (not necessarily due to the nationwide drug shortages), but management doesn't seem to care (especially if it's a weekend or at night). People come in late and don't start working soon after come (they clock in and eat a leisurely breakfast or chit-chat for 20 or 30 minutes while the work piles up and the phones are ringing off the hook), but management doesn't seem to care about this. People who work during the day get a lot of praise and free meals and other gifts, but if you work in the evening or at night, management doesn't care about you and gives you no praise. Even during pharmacy appreciation week, management told us "you can eat the leftovers of what we gave to to the daytime people," as if we are dogs on the street.

Pros

Supportive coworkers and management, and opportunity for growth.

Cons

It can be difficult to get used to the way they do things, but there is usually support if you ask.
