Pros

Great products Good management Good people

Cons

Since the new CFO & CEO came in, the company culture became nonexistent. Their whole goal was to hire cheaper outside the US to replace the 280 employees laid off. Upon the new CEO introduction to the company, he mentioned he doesn’t look at us as “just employees.” That he “cares for our family, your children.” None of that was remotely true. Speaking of remotely… He installed a 3 week notice of mandatory return to site. This left many employees scrambling to get their ends covered to RTS. Now, let’s talk about these layoffs. The CEO sent an email in the late afternoon on 1/30 announcing the 280 jobs being cut on 2/1 and that half of them will be replaced outside US. This put TREMENDOUS amounts of stress & anxiety on employees throughout the company. Why not announce it and do the layoffs the following day? Going back to RTS, he announced the layoffs on the SECOND day of RTS. Why not postpone the RTS till the following week if he knew he was doing layoffs that week? He has mentioned this quote multiple times in various platforms. “My problems are your problems & your problems are your problems.” Comes across as a real class act.

Pros

Products work for the most part. You are selling technology that cyber professionals need. It’s easier than most companies in the space to get meetings with security executives.

Cons

Micro management that doesn’t add value or help love deals. They are paper pushing and reporting and continuously have last min reporting needs that take precedence over getting deals done. They bring a lot of problems to the table with few solutions. Many came with out management experience and do not have the people skills to manage different people and personalities. Proofpoint is extremely cheap with expenses. Be prepared to have to cover bills yourself if you take clients out to dinner because if you go to a nice restaurant and the client orders an app, a few drinks, a meal and desert, Proofpoint will not even cover this when it’s reasonable. There is a lot of competition in the space and that makes every deal a knife fight going back and forth on price. In general they treat women very poorly. No support for maternity or post partum with very bad benefits that don’t match other tech companies.

Hi, thank you for sharing this candid feedback. It’s great to hear you found value in the product and the opportunity to engage with customers in such a competitive space. At the same time, you’ve raised several important points around management approach, internal processes, and overall team support. These are not small things, and they directly shape the day to day experiences of our teams and the culture of our company. That being said, they will continue to be areas of focus. We also want to address your comments around the experience for women, including support during maternity and postpartum. Maintaining an environment where every employee feels supported through all stages of life is important, and feedback like this highlights where there may be gaps between intent and experience. That insight is critical and we thank you for sharing it with us. We appreciate you taking the time to share your perspective on your time here on the team.
