Pros

Words and practices to support good work/life balance.

Cons

Tendency to sell work with too much vagueness that made expectation setting with clients a real challenge.

Pros

The people at Promptworks are the best. Each team member is smart, unique and willing to help do whatever the team needs to be successful. My manager was personally invested in my success in good and challenging times and we worked together to deliver the high quality work that the company is known for. I got to work on some really interesting projects and learned the nuts and bolts of custom software development.

Cons

The company is smaller but growing. This allows you to wear many hats which can be overwhelming at times but ultimately provides a growth opportunity!

Pros

- It's an incredible team of professionals who will push you to the top of your game - Everyone is down to earth -- I've never worked anywhere that didn't have at least one person I didn't like but everyone here is someone who I would want to get a beer with (and do almost weekly!) - There's a big emphasis on a family feel rather than just punching a clock and cashing a check -- the owners are very big on family first and work-life balance so there's no stress when you have to be out of the office to take care of family matters - The owners are very involved and care a lot about each employees individual interest, even though their bandwidth doesn't allow them to be as involved as they might otherwise be - There are always really interesting new projects that our team gets to help shape -- though the client might not know that when they walk in the door - There is a lot of investment on the company side to develop technical expertise with things like paid conferences and investment time - The company is growing based on earned income, which is promising in the professional services field

Cons

- The way projects are structured means that you aren't always able to work with other people in the company, so use investment time to work on a side project - The company is transitioning out of a flat structure into having more managerial roles, so there are some growing pains there. The owners acknowledge them though and are working to fix them but something to be conscious of
