Pros

What I love about this job is you basically choose your outcome; you can stay in sales helping walk-in customers on a good salary with 1% commission and feel like you have a safe flexible job. Or you can get into Builder sales, which accounts are basically handed to you - there are no quotas, no pressure, no cold calls- you can stay salary or go full commission at 5-6%. Some months I bring home 8-9k but on average about 5k. You're not micro managed but the town is small so the gossip will go around if ANYthing goes down. Overall, I love the management (no micro managing) and the sales people can be like family, I guess there used to be greedy sales people here but I haven't had that experience. I don't feel like I'm living on the clock and if I need to leave to take care of personal stuff it's not a big deal. Let's just say, all you have to do is get to know LIGHTS, make it your passion! I brought in 80k last year, no degree, no overtime, no events missed at my kid's school. Most of the stores are Tues-Sat 9-5pm except Roswell, which is Mon-Sat 9-5, which is still amazing for retail.

Cons

If the market goes down, there's no guarantee pay/base pay. Lay-offs can be scary IF you are not a full commission employee. & nepotism is huge an unchecked which can lead to a huge lawsuit...
