Pros

There are some talented and genuinely nice people at the company but they are largely taken advantage of, overworked and under appreciated.

Cons

There have been many instances of unfairness in the company. Management is selfish and lacks any respect for others’ expertise or opinions. They play favorites instead of caring about diligence and talent. They look the other way and are unlawful in so many situations. They are dismissive of ideas, unorganized and grossly underpay employees. Health insurance is also a joke. They claimed it was a better plan and in fact, it was only better for their pockets. There are so many tech ed companies in the industry and Progress Learning is one of the absolute worst when it comes to treatment of employees, and as job hunting has taught me, they have an increasingly negative reputation among the other companies and school districts.

I am sorry to hear that your experience with Progress Learning was less than awesome. Progress Learning offers competitive benefits and wages bases on market data. We recently made the “Great Place to Work” list because of the efforts we make to keep our employees happy. Progress Learning is constantly looking for ways to improve our culture and benefits package to retain and attract top talent. Please feel free to reach out to me directly at bobbi.wilson@progresslearning.com to discuss ways in which we can improve.

Pros

The pros of this company are that you are helping teachers and admins to help students. There are also a few lovely people that work here! But it is unfortunately drowned by the toxicity of leadership of the exec team.

Cons

The management does not know what they are doing. The micromanaging started to get more severe when I left but I hear first-hand how awful it is. Employees are being treated like children with daily accountability meetings and asked to explain what they are working on every single day. And the exec team will do anything to cover their own selves verses doing what is right for the employees. Again, while there are a few good people here, I would not trust this place and I wouldn’t go back. There was also a layoff in 2023 which was handled poorly in my opinion.
