Pros
Progress is a firm that is fully committed to delivering performance and results to its clients, and has a dedicated team on a mission to do its best. Firm excels in maintaining a balance between striving for high achievement and caring about its employees. The firm holds monthly all-staff meetings to share information (even financials), way above what many others do. Also, they solicit opinions informally and formally, including conducting anonymous surveys. They increasingly strive to reward financially and otherwise for contributions, while also having more focus on career paths and professional development plans and tools for EVERY EMPLOYEE. Finally, the firm is constantly looking forward and considering how to improve. It recently announced and implemented two very positive and significant senior management initiatives to enhance the firm for improved results, business strategy and employee relations and to help maintain and enhance the employee-owned culture.
Cons
Increased accountability and increased decision-making authority below the senior-most level can be troublesome to people who are not driven to excel or who are uncomfortable with the demands of a smaller firm in which one has to be willing as a team player to do some tasks outside one's official job description for the good of the firm.
