Pros

Some of the managers here (very heavily depending on which department) can be very patient and understanding towards the employees. A couple of the managers here do have PhDs in the natural sciences such as biochemistry so they are very knowledgeable and can help if you have questions. You do get a couple of weeks off for Christmas/New Year's, several sick and vacation days per year, and insurance. At the end of each month, we do get meetings with lunch provided, which is always nice. Sometimes some people do bring dogs here. Several of the people here are very fun and interesting to know and sometimes, employees do get together to hang out outside of work. It's a decent place (again, depending on which department you're in) to gain some biotech experience.

Cons

Unfortunately, a couple of the managers here are not so great, particularly in the sales and administrative departments. There appears to be a lot of cussing, swearing, and name-calling coming from management in sales, which would be considered highly incompetent and unprofessional in most other companies I have worked for in the past. Sadly, many of the employees in the sales department are usually the victims of such verbal abuse. Additionally, the administration can be very stingy when it comes to allowing other departments to hire (except for sales because, not surprisingly, everyone eventually quits sales). There are quite a few departments that are in desperate need of more people, particularly in QC where only two people are currently running the whole show. Manufacturing and perhaps PDC may also need more but QC is in most desperate need. I have seen several employees burst into tears here due to the amount of stress placed on them. Some even have difficulty squeezing in lunch breaks due to the lack of other employees to help. Upward mobility is also very, very difficult here and even if you do move up, the raise may not be all that much.

Pros

You get to bring your dog to work, 2 week vacation in Dec, free snacks.

Cons

Incredibly stressful and toxic environment. There's constant yelling and cursing by management at employees. There are no cubicles so everyone hears when someone is getting screamed at. Management is always trying to find someone to blame for simple mistakes (such as answering the phone incorrectly or typos) and they go ballistic over them. People walk out upset or crying all the time. Most people would say that Sales normally have a high turnover rate, but this place is incredible. They have 3 Sales Associates and are constantly trying to fill those positions because of the high turnover rate. I constantly see them posting for Sales positions on Craigslist. During my half year there, i saw 5 people come and go just from the Sales dept alone. The other departments would take bets on how long the newbie will stay. Oh and for those of you who love using Microsoft Office, you're gonna have a bad time because this company ONLY uses Word Perfect from Corel.
