Pros

Great dedicated team of people who are passionate about the product. Really bold in terms of trying new things.

Cons

The owners are way in over their heads and are just not good with people at all. Communication is really difficult. Insane micro-managers. Pivot priorities on a dime. Spend a ton of time talking about how they will do things and waste all that time and never do them. No sense of finances or what it takes to run a successful business. They try -- I will give them that. But they should set a high level goal and let someone else execute and they should stay out of it. They are not cut out to manage people or run a business outside of themselves.

Pros

Flexibility in hours. Working from home during pandemic. This is a small business that values employee input. Weekly meetings where everyone has a chance to be heard and have their issues solved. The office has recently relocated to a new studio in a safer neighborhood.

Cons

The company is growing rapidly, so sometimes hours go past what is considered typical work hours. There is a lot of work to be done and the team is small.

Pros

Work life balance and discount

Cons

The company frequently renews short-term contracts instead of offering full-time opportunities, creating a false sense of job security. Interns and entry-level employees are often used for cheap labor with high expectations, only to be let go once they’ve served their purpose — regardless of performance or dedication. There’s little room for internal growth, and rather than promoting from within, they prefer to hire externally “in the best interest of the company.” It’s disappointing to put in so much effort and receive so little investment in return.
