Pros

Work Life balance is excellent. Managers show a lot of respect to employees Bonus plan for consultants is exceptional - for every billable hour of overtime in a month you get $50 per hour. So if you get on a client that wants you to bill 50 hours per month, that is an extra $2,000 bonus They do make the effort to bring people together with regular meetings, events

Cons

Bonus plan payout is slow – several months after ‘bonus’ month No real business development – therefore very few new clients. Most of their projects are achieved thru “diversity spending” which is a joke and potentially criminally fraudulent. The founder’s wife is the CEO, most of the time she is never seen or heard from No idea how they get votes so high in best places to work.. NO methodology or for that matter many subject matter experts, they take on any deal then scramble to find a contractor out there that can fill the role. Lot of great reviews around April 2012 – that is when they beefed up the recruiting team with a new manager who is quite competent. Internal projects fall into some hellish void – they come up with great ideas to beef up the organization – but then it falls flat. The other hellish void is the bench – once you are on it you are ignored for months on end – which may seem to be counter intuitive to the internal projects mentioned earlier – but nothing happens unless the management team makes the decision to go forward.

Pros

Small company that truly understands the challenges of the modern professional balancing work and life. Sensitive and respects people for time off, even on short notice. Technology competency is broad, allowing employees to grow and expand their professional skills. We recognize the need to diversify into offering services geared towards the business. Leadership team understands what needs to be done to meet tactical objectives. When we need to come together and solve a problem, we tend to succeed. When Bob gets involved, things get done. During this current recession, we appear to be doing reasonable well. We seemed to have found our groove for sales and the types of clients to go after.

Cons

Being a small company, we have very little in the way of training. Our budgets are tight, so many things that one would take for granted, are not at PL. Creature comforts, a modern website, dressed-up office are lacking. We are not strategic enough, and are always fighting fires. Tend to have knee-jerk reactions, running from "one side of the ship to the other" whenever it seems the wind changes. The really skilled senior people are stretched way to thin and over-worked. These individuals carry the company and often making up for less skilled or senior resources. We have been bouncing within a range revenue wise and not sure that will change anytime soon.
