Pros
The pay. I was able to get my 6 figure pay somewhat around my typical salary, still was a 15K paycut though. The people seemed pretty decent and nice. The company also is from what I hear very stable especially even during recessions.
Cons
So many:
In office 5 days a week, the office is also a very old outdated type of building from maybe...the 70s or 80s? Kind of dilapidated, depressing cubicle environment like a very old call center.
The HR manager remarked on two different days about me having gray hairs, which I thought was kind of rude.
Code base kind of complex and my very first task within 2 days was adding a full fledged feature 8 point story, when I barely had even seen the actual application for more than 2 days.
Got stuck when I was about 80% done with this feature, repeatedly asked for help from my team lead, who kept telling me "it shouldn't be that hard", and kept denying my requests for another front end engineer to help out the new guy (me). After being pressed to get this done for the next several days and still being stuck, I resigned after not even a month. Best decision I ever made.
